ISO14001 - Environmental Award for ACT
ACT Reprographics has added Environmental Award ISO14001
to its list of accreditations, which already includes ISO9001:2000
and IIP status.
Lee Saltmarsh, one of the company's three directors, said: 'We
believe in adopting robust and sustainable environmental policies
and procedures as our customers are increasingly requesting
information and confirmation of our environmental management status
during tender applications and contractual negotiations.'
Having established many internal processes in advance, the company
was able to fast track with a core implementation team, which
included specialist independent ISO advisor Gerald Pritchard, and
drive the necessary changes and improvements through the business.
The team assessed the company's activities and then implemented
systems to control and reduce their affects on the
environment. These systems were put to the test and passed
the strict standards required by the ISO Audit company, Bureau
Veritas.
"This accreditation demonstrates to our customers and the public
that we have taken responsibility for our environmental impact",
say Lee. "For example waste from our process is minimised and
wherever possible recycled or reused"
ISO 14001 forms part of ISO 14000, a series of voluntary standards
and guideline reference documents. The latter covers
environmental management compliance and control, including tasks
such as monitoring and measurement, operational control, emergency
procedures, environmental records, correct waste management,
communications and training.
ACT's comprehensive print and finishing
production facilities ensure that a wide array of projects have
been completed including popups, banner stands, banners, building wraps, fabric graphics,
vehicle liveries, signs, backlit media, exhibition graphics, billboards,
adshels and much more.
